About this deal

This likely means that the case is collecting heat in our tested configuration, but a quick test with a piece of paper showed that all of the fans were flowing correctly. All outputs are designed only to enable daisy-chaining of these devices, with the original connection leading to a motherboard header. The word pop doesn’t really apply to the design of Pop Silent, but it’s part of a new line from Fractal that includes the Pop Air, which comes in an array of colors and three RGB fans. Flexible specification options to meet your needs, fully configurable and of course, upgradeable in future. Today's computer has evolved into playing a central role in most homes, creating a demand for appealing design of the computer itself and its accessories.

I saw a chance to get paid for my knowledge, and have since written more than a thousand pieces (many of them for the seminal tech site Tom's Hardware) before finding my latest opportunity: with PCMag. An oddity appears in our GPU temperature testing as the Pop XL Silent slowly overtakes the Pop Air RGB in GPU cooling. The Pop XL Silent’s bottom features a power-supply dust filter that pulls out from the rear, via a grab tab that protrudes about half an inch from the rear panel.Available with some nifty hints of color, Fractal Design’s Pop Air RGB is suitable for seekers of a big PC case with a pair of hidden, old-school 5. And from your perspective, mATX is restrictive to a certain extent; a smaller case will come with compromises around cooling and potentially compatibility.

Users are free to move this part to the top of the power-supply tunnel if desired, and Fractal Design says that it will make spares available to those who wish to equip their cases with additional drives. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. Comes with three 120 mm Aspect 12 RGB (Pop Air RGB TG version only) fans (and supports two more for a total of five). This Fractal Gaming PC case boasts an iconic design, which provides a bold, modern-inspired aesthetic. Graphics card temperatures are an oddity for the Pop Air RGB, as they start off normally cool and gradually scale past all others in this test set. That experience provided the credentials I’d need for the transition from industry supplier to industry observer. Credit is provided by Novuna Personal Finance, a trading style of Mitsubishi HC Capital (UK) PLC, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. By that time, I’d already self-published some guidelines on hardcore PC stuff: pin-modifying processors to defeat compatibility checks and overclock non-overclockable systems.

Since space is very tight around the top panel’s 140mm fan mounts, Fractal Design recommends using nothing larger than a dual-120mm (aka 240mm) radiator here. SIMPLY EXCEPTIONAL – Fractal fuse flair with function in the new Pop series of cases that does not skimp on aesthetics or flexibility. For those with less exotic plans, we'd look for a color scheme that matches your tastes, and consider the bays a nice old-school throwback in the event you run across a drive bay device (or DVD burner) you want to install down the road. The Aorus Z690 Elite we were using for previous reviews died sometime during the initial build of this review, so we had to swap it out. One thing I don't get is that the reviews for the Torrent compact almost all mention that the cable routing space is terrible and the reviews for the Pop cases say it is fine, even this one with the sound deadening material making it tighter. For a mainstream gaming rig or mixed use in a room where you want to keep things quiet it should be fine–just don’t expect the kind of temperatures you’d get with a more mainstream case. Because this chassis is all about silence, there isn’t any fan or radiator support at the top due to the sound-dampening foam lining. We’re very happy to see the Pop Air RGB reach mid-pack voltage-regulator temperatures, but realize that the only case to hit significantly worse temperatures was designed to prevent fans from being installed directly above the voltage regulator.
