And many of these tools have been a part of the Leatherman tool family for decades, so they ought to work well.

Many multitools on the market today suffer from flex under duress – a situation where the arms of the pliers begin to twist under torsion. Though there is some give when you squeeze the arms, there is no twisting under strain. This can be accredited to the pliers themselves, which were completely redesigned to combat this issue as well as to be more streamlined to access tighter spaces. The Leatherman free P2 and P4 are two such great models that you will be enjoying for sure, and there is hardly a thing to be missing on these. Everything is a little easier to access and use but you probably don’t need to run out and buy a Free P4 if you’re already happy with your Surge, Wave+, or Charge TTi. This is especially true given the premium price of the P4.There is no such thing as one perfect unit for all jobs. You will have to carefully judge what type of tools will best complement your work and then move forward from there. Both are pretty much the same in size and pricing as well. So, it all goes down to the needs you might have. The Leatherman Free P4 is a great multi tool on its own. As anyone who’s ever owned a multi tool can tell you though, there’s always an accessory or add on that will make it a bit better.
I’m not a fan of fidget spinners — waste of money if you ask me. But after using Leatherman’s new FREE multitool (launching this month), I can certainly see some of the appeal. With the Free series Leatherman sought to once again revolutionize the multi tool world. Overall we think they did a pretty good job of it. The Free P4 in particular is one of the easiest multi tools to open and use that we’ve ever seen. You won’t break your nails anymore, this has never happened to me or any Leatherman owner I’ve ever known, including women. It looks pretty much the same, and with one look, you might be confusing it with the Free P2 at times.
However, some owners might claim that the increased number of tools on the P4 is better for robust projects.
