This book is a standalone in a series of connected standalones, but can be read and enjoyed without reading any others in the series. Now, he has his little pity parties where he's like "I know 🥺🥺 I'm such a shitty person 😞😞 I fucked up, man" and people comfort him telling him that he's not and he was doing his best LMAO.
Plus, there is a connection between Mac’s story and Winnie’s story (like father like daughter) - it’s adorable and I loved it so much! I don’t know what else I should add, because apart from the already mentioned issues - this was an overall great little story. he would shout at naomi, his ex wife, for checking up on her child when she hears luna had an allergic reaction. Winnie was refreshing, she was a self proclaimed love junkie, after a few disastrous relationships she decides to swear off men for a while choosing to just focus on herself.My alarm was set for six and hadn’t gone off yet, but my daughters had been up for at least twenty minutes. Dex is the type of guy who warrants the ’if he wanted to, he would’ advice from all of your friends. Throw them both right next door to one another with only a wall separating and let the burning hot fun begin! She blended in so well with his girls – which Luna and Hallie stole the show regularly and it’s the cutest thing ever! this was so fast paced, like him masturbating to the thought of her body 20% in type of fast paced and they barely had a conversation!
They're so different: she really brings the sunshine to his grumpy life, and she becomes part of it, and his daughters'. Naomi is trying her absolute best, being a pretty wonderful parent, and she's shit on for no reason. They have this one hot moment where Dex rubs the tip of his beer bottle on Winnie's lower lip while making eye contact. Dex and Winnie become neighbors and there is a connection and chemistry there, but Dex isn't looking for anything serious after his divorce.She continues to deliver books that hit me just right – they're not overly complicated, have all the emotions I’m looking for – give me just enough angst and allllll the sexy times I could want, fantastic characters that I fall head over heels for – what more could I want!
Dex and Winnie have stolen my heart, ripped it out, broken it into tiny pieces and sewn it back together again over a 98 minute period. When they had their mini breakup, Dex was all huffy puffy and angry and he took it out on the athletes he was training by making everything harder and harsher. Ignite was absolutely everything I was looking for and needed and in true Melanie form she gave me a fantastic romance with amazing characters and all of the feels.The sunshiney, goofy, light hearted young Winnie contrasts so beautifully with the grumpy, firefighter and single dad Dex. She was a ‘fall fast, fall hard’ type of girl, but she knew she was doing it and handled the consequences with respect for others and compassion for herself. Now they were playing their favorite game, which was to stand next to me while I slept and talk shit about me. Well, except for her singing voice – but she had to have some kind of flaw, or else it’s just not fair. This entire ensemble is one of my all time favorites, and I just love every moment I get to spend in the amazing world of Cloverleigh.
