About this deal

The entire world is suffering from trauma based mind control and you can easily see the victims, all of humanity. Born in Russia in 1900 he studied the occult at an early age, became attracted to the work of Rudolf Steiner ( Anthroposophy) and produced other excellent books ( Christ and Sophia, etc. In other words, your blog suggests by leaving unsaid other things he wrote an impression he oppositonal to Eastern religions. And he regrets the destruction to the traditional church by any who have taken up violence - psychological or otherwise. And I understand from others who would know better than me that it’s a good potential pathway for those taken in by the New Age movement back to Christianity.

To my thinking Tomberg greatest contribution to Occidental Mysticism is his encouraging of the mutual respect between ” The Church of John” and ” The Church of Peter” , or the esoteric and ecoteric attitudes of soul. I think such personal re-imaginings are a necessary part of what created the Tarot in the first place; everyone who learns to read Tarot recasts meanings a little. And yet there are tantalising indications that Tomberg’s opus has, in fact, received some kind of support from the highest echelons of the Church, including the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith and the Papacy. It is an effort to revive the tradition of Christian Hermeticism - that spiritual tradition that seeks the depths and the heights of meaning and authentic tradition.

Now, I would say that these elements are not primary, nor secondary or even tertiary – but they are there. For example, he says that the Native American or Hindu sage that guards the Tree of their tradition faithfully will be rewarded by their Father in Heaven.e., the Tarot cards (major arcana) are used as "launching points" for philosophical meditations on the {alleged) truths of Christian Hermeticism.

interesting, I mean I know of know other book that talks about the spiritual mechanics of levitation and teaches you that one can 'suck in' ghosts; nevertheless apart from these curiosities I think the overall project of this book, i. The author (Valentin Tomberg) was a convert to Catholicism from Anthroposophy, after which conversion this book, and Lazarus, Come Forth (or Covenant of the Heart) were written. Dense and difficult—the more so as I entered the book woefully uninformed about Catholic and Christian Hermetic ritual and terminology—but also endlessly fascinating and edifying, especially in the recondite and convincing manner with which scientific, psychological, and anthropological phenomena are reconciled with the spiritual revelation of Christ. In turn, Sufism would influence the mystery of love in Medieval Europe, helping to further bring out what was already inherent in the Christian revelation. Bhakti spirituality in Hinduism also exploded only after Christ, not due to any direct contact with Christianity, but possibly because of changes in the subtle cosmic environment resulting from the Incarnation.

My next book is Zhuan Falun and he says in there this will be our 82nd extinction level event, so we got that going for us, which is nice. So if divination is your purpose, or even a general introduction to the Tarot, this is not the book you are looking for. In flowing and running water, in mists dissolving into water, also in the winds and the lightning flashing through the air, in all these, you have to look for the physical body of Angelic beings.

G. Jung is strong here, unsurprisingly, but I also enjoyed seeing the work of such disparate and eccentric thinkers as Henri Bergson, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Eliphas Levi, Rudolph Steiner, and St. I find myself self somewhat sympathetic to others commenting on Tomberg’s view of oriental mysticism, a view quite common in his time and reflected even in the Carl Jung. Others are drawn by the traditional Catholic liturgy, which I think has a real capacity to attract and evangelise New Agers if only it were better known.A must-have for any of a Christian background who might be looking for the connection between the Tarot and the faith you grew up in. The historical reality of Jesus is not so much denied as reinterpreted as a real-but-symbolic representation of the nature of man and man's relationship to God. As you say in your initial line, Tomberg’s understanding “works fine from the Christian-centric perspective. Others, unfortunately, seemed to have developed some antithetical views towards the author - somehow presuming that this author's spiritual authority undermined something of their own formed views. Their aim is not only to revive the tradition in the twentieth century but also, and above all, to immerse the reader (or rather the Unknown Friend) in this current -- be it temporarily or for ever.
