About this deal

In today's Gospel reading our Lord Jesus is calling us to lead a selfless life. A life in which we are not the only ones in our life. Our Lord also clearly mentions that a place is created for us in Heaven from the foundation of the world, that is even before we are born in this world. Our journey from earth to heaven is our entire lifetime spent on earth plus the one moment of our death in which our soul transcends to God. However, there is a fallacy in this argument. It disregards the uncompromising words spoken by Jesus in the parable. This argument also ignores a basic Christian belief regarding free will. While God certainly desires that all people would share eternity in heaven, he respects our freedom and accepts the outcomes of our choices and decisions. our country, our world experienced national disasters, floods, famines, civil wars, epidemics or pandemics The group was founded by priests as a "forum to discuss theological issues" and as an "independent body to fight for the rights of priests and defend them in situations where their bishops have refused support". [7] The ACP has been criticised by the conservative Catholics in The Irish Catholic and The Catholic World Report.

Christ himself wishes to be identified with and recognised in every refugee." ... Pope St John Paul II. The ACPs acceptance of the Creed and adherence to defined teaching of the Catholic Church has been challenged by some right wing conservative news such as The Catholic World Report. [20] This is due in part to the association adopting a neutral position in the 2015 referendum which would allow same sex couples to have civil marriages, and in the 2018 abortion referendum where they asked parishses to stop allowing referendum campaigners to use the pulpit during Mass. [21] [22] Vocations [ edit ] Full acceptance that the Spirit speaks through all people, including those of faiths other than Christian and those of no religious faith, so that the breath of the Spirit will flow more freely. His teaching is not airy fairy - "you must live with the consequences of your actions". "Good news" is implied however - " other chances will arise so don't miss out next time". And the Trinity are in solidarity also with all who suffer from the sins of the proud, those who try to resolve their status anxiety by looking to others for glory. One of those was Napoleon I, whose battles are now again vividly rendered cinematically, this time by Sir Ridley Scott. When people are less talented than us, we are likely to look down upon them. A spirit of pride takes over us when we are able to do what our friend or partner is not able to do. We start thinking less about them and finally, it starts showing up in our words and actions. If God has not given it to us then how can we have it? Then why think highly of ourselves and less of others? In those degrading circumstances, the " son of man" was present " in his glory escorted by all the angels, with all the nations assembled before him". We remember experiences which seemed to be disasters but in fact were judgement moments showing us how wrong our values were. Jesus, and the Father and the Spirit are, via the cross, in solidarity with all who suffer from the sins of others, including every single one of those who died in the Napoleonic wars, whom Napoleon considered disposable in the service of his own glory.

vs.42 For I was hungry and you never gave me food; I was thirsty and you never gave me anything to drink; The Association of Catholic Priests (ACP) is an independent [4] and voluntary association of Catholic clergy in Ireland. The association was established on 1 September 2010 with the objective of having "a forum, and a voice to reflect, discuss and comment on issues affecting the Irish Church and society today". [5] [6] Its lay, sister organisation is the Association of Catholics in Ireland.

The abdication by the Christian churches of one whole department of life, that of social and political conduct, as the sphere of the powers of this world and of them alone, is one of the capital revolutions through which the human spirit has passed." ... R.H. Tawney Sin is to spit in the face of God, it is to offer him infinite insult. Logically there must be an infinite expiation." Bringing in priests from overseas is one of the models being adopted by some dioceses in Ireland to contend with the fall-off in vocations. But this is postponing the inevitable, some priests believe, and the focus should be on preparing the laity to take up parish roles such as on parish finance committees and leading funerals and weddings. Fr Bernard Cotter is co-parish priest in a “family” of five parishes in the diocese of Cork and Ross, living in the parish of Castlehaven and Myross. Next year he will celebrate 40 years of priesthood. He has spent the last few weeks visiting parishioners inviting them to become part of the parish’s funeral team. “There is a great willingness,” among the laity to step. The “decline in practice and the decline in vocations go together” he said.
