Other first line options are Epimax ®ointment and Liquid & white soft paraffin ointment (Fifty:50®). Eucerin ®UreaRepair Plus lotion can be used if lotion required however it has been registered as ‘cosmetic’ rather than as medicines which means that it is notavailable on prescription. Medi Derma-S Barrier Cream moisturises and protects damaged and intact skin by forming a protective waterproof barrier, preventing irritation from bodily fluids, adhesive products and friction. No new patients to receive prescriptions in primary care. Patients already receiving Red Medicines in primary care should be handled on a case by case basis with the support of the Medicines Optimisation team. As part of this day Kerry (Medicareplus Rep) came to present sessions on MASD, Medical-Adhesive Related Skin Injury (MARSI) and barrier products.
