In 1264 the castle was under seige by the rebel, Simon de Montfort, when Blanche fled to the top of the building. There were a number of sightings in 2004, with the man said to be dressed in black while holding a bag or a case. Kent is a county that is packed with history, so it should come as no surprise that it's at the centre of ghost sightings and haunting stories.
