The Amwrap has a very helpful video to show you how it’s done as well as clear pictures in the instruction manual, it even shows you how to use the wrap in three carrying positions – hip, basic and newborn carry. The instructions are OK, but I had to look online to view the video as had quite a few problems getting it right. Yes, the fabric feels high-quality and you can just bung it in the washing machine at 40 degrees – you just need to reshape it while it’s damp.

Catia: I think this product should be considered to win best wrap because it is great, it folds really well, you can easily take it with you in your changing bag. It has two carrying positions, front and hip, and the cotton material is super soft and breathable to wear. Amawrap is a long-established, family-owned business with the founders’ family ancestry and roots embedded within babywearing cultures. Carrying a baby is good for their cognitive development, they can see and hear what you can and be more involved in your everyday life.

That and having the slings manufactured within the UK meant that Shabs was able to achieve exactly the type of wrap that she found best supported a baby – exactly the right fabric, with exactly the right amount of stretch. The cool, khaki colour was fab, too – it’s a neutral shade that goes with everything and complemented Matilda’s patterned babygrows perfectly.

I’d definitely recommend this product to those who have babies who don’t like to be put down, or who want a more flexible and comfortable way to carry their child without the rigidity of some of the carriers on the market.
