Switch to something with properly testing on-screen motion ( Match of the Day on iPlayer is always good for this, what with its constant motion, a lot of which is in opposition to the movement of the camera) and you’ll find yourself back in the depths of the setup menus sharpish.

Despite being rear-facing, these drivers raise hopes of more audio power than you may normally expect from such an affordable, design-led OLED TV – and they just about deliver on those hopes.
The slender edges are all that can be seen from sensible viewing angles, though, so unless the OLED806 is being hung on a wall, its 'chunky bit' is barely worth mentioning.
And its presence is significant, as it highlights the shift in Philips' philosophy over recent years towards catering for a varied array of picture quality tastes and needs. The screen itself sits very close to the feet, which means it’s very low to the surface on which the TV is standing. The OLED806 expands to very nearly 7cm - which means it’s far from the most wall-hangable screen around. But if you want to stay clear of unwanted processing artefacts, you should stick with the Pure Cinema – or if you don't mind sacrificing a little brightness – Fast Motion Clarity options.It is possible to achieve very agreeable picture quality where contrasts, colour fidelity, motion control and so on are concerned quite quickly - and quicker still to ruin it all by having ‘just one more’ investigation of, say, the different ‘Fast Motion Clarity’ settings. And the excellent picture quality - balanced and naturalistic, yet vibrant and exciting at the same time - is augmented by four-sided Ambilight for extra immersion and reduced eye-strain. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. The 55OLED806 looks glorious when viewed head-on, or from a slight angle; but from the rear or side you can’t help but notice that its mid-section sticks out much more than the edges. Even bog-standard TV broadcasts remain watchable, though they’re a bit soft and noisy by comparison.
